The laboratory sciences division (LSD) has prominently existed within the icddr,b for decades and was since rechristened as the laboratory sciences and services division (LSSD) in 2016. The division traditionally rendered pioneering research contributions in the areas of bacterial genetics & evolution, pathogen survival mechanisms, molecular epidemiology and diagnostic development besides providing essential laboratory support for projects and outbreak investigations within Bangladesh and abroad.
The capacity of Clinical Microbiology and Immunology Laboratory (CMIL) encompasses from culture to molecular and serological identification of clinical specimen.
Learn moreThe lab performs wide range of basic and complex investigations including: Full blood counts and blood films, Bone marrow tests including cytochemistry, Coagulation screens like PT..
Learn moreThe lab process and test blood, urine, CSF and other body fluids, stool, and also miscellaneous fluids for routine and special biochemical tests catering to icddr,b internal stake holders, researchers and outpatient clients.
Learn moreWe have established a high-throughput genome-sequencing unit. This facility provides us with local capacity to sequence microbial and human genomes, supporting studies across our research programmes.
Learn moreUrine, Stool and various body fluid cytology and analysis, special tests on stool like fecal occult blood, FEC, ova count,
Learn moreThe Laboratory of Environmental Health (LEH) focuses research mainly on water microbiology and water chemistry related to the ecology and epidemiology of diarrheagenic organisms.
Learn moreThe icddr,b Genomics Centre (iGC) represents an effort to enhance internal capacity, enabling the implementation of large-scale genome-based projects. We aim be a leader and centre of excellence in genomic research in the Global South and is dedicated to
