Semi quantitative determination of Rheumatoid Factor (RF) in human sera. RA is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes stiffness, pain, loss of mobility, inflammation, and erosion (deterioration) in the joints. Rheumatoid factor (RF) – used to help diagnose RA. It is present in significant concentrations in most people (about 80%) with RA but can also be present in people with other diseases. When positive in someone with symptoms of RA, this test can be useful to confirm the diagnosis.
