What is being tested?

Total PSA assay is used to perform quantitative detection of Total Prostate specific antigen in human blood.  Total PSA assay is to be used as an aid in the detection of prostate cancer when used in conjunction with digital rectal exam (DRE) in men 50 years or older and as an adjunctive test to in the management of prostate cancer patients.
